Tehran is willing to reinitiate nuclear discussions with Washington as long as it is approached with "dignity" and "honor", Tehran's top diplomat has announced.

The Iranian diplomat said exclusively dialogue worked, and disclosed fresh requests had been made by go-betweens to restart negotiations with the Trump administration. He asserted Iran did not have secret atomic facilities, and Iran had not yet reached a point to authorize the International Atomic Energy Agency to inspect bombed nuclear sites for safety concerns.

Navigating a Difficult Route

Araghchi is walking a difficult route since Iran does not want be seen to be acting from a stance of disadvantage, and he consistently maintained that Iran had emerged more resilient militarily and psychologically from the joint assault on its enrichment centers in June.

He was addressing at a strategic meeting in Tehran where he restated that Iran had "an absolute privilege to refine atomic fuel within its borders that it will perpetually retain" – the primary cause of the stalemate in the previous talks.

Prior Talks Unexpectedly Terminated

The earlier sessions of discussions between the United States and Iran were concluded unexpectedly and hostile conclusion on 12 June when Israel, with Washington's assistance, struck Iranian nuclear sites in a fortnight-long engagement that ended with the American leader asserting the facilities had been eliminated. Following this, Western states used their authority to restore international penalties, but Iran maintains they have not had a major impact.

Tehran representatives claimed they felt they had attained a "ideal resolution" to the nuclear fuel concern in earlier negotiations, when it was settled an domestic cooperative with Washington's engagement could enrich uranium. Both sides would have been able to declare success since domestic enrichment would have continued and the US could be confident that Iran's enrichment initiative was entirely non-military.

He stated the attacks began with a US demand for an complete Tehran capitulation and culminated with an unconditional call for a truce.

Diplomacy Remains the Final Solution

The foreign minister said: "It was not Iran that had deserted negotiations; it was America and the western countries that had consistently sought to impose their will during the discussions. Dialogue can still be alive and remains the primary resolution to settle conflicts, but its standards, guidelines and fundamentals must be adhered to."

Repair and Rebuilding

In what is described by Iranian officials as the conflict of recovery and rebuilding, Araghchi claimed he was confident Iran's defence capabilities "have significantly improved than before 13 or 14 June of this year. Our entire military infrastructure have been restored. We gained numerous insights from this war; we have discovered our internal vulnerabilities and the shortcomings of the opponent."

He continued: "We effectively endured this war. Our enrichment knowledge, which they intended to eliminate, stays intact. The sites and machinery, if eliminated, will be rebuilt; what is crucial is the determination of the citizens of Tehran and then the social solidarity that they aimed at, but did not succeed to break. The Iranian people have developed stronger, more cohesive, and more endorsing of the government and the nation in the face of this assault."
